However here is what works best for me
-Hanging leg raises has been the most effective for me in hitting lower abs. I personally like to hold a pullup bar with my hands, but sleeves that your elbows slip in can make this easier. If you are a novice or have never done hanging leg raises, it is often helpful to have a spotter. They mainly serve to stabilize your body - when performing this exercise it is improtant that your back remains in a stable plain, with your legs raising but now swinging your body. A spotter can help you straighten out and align your back after each rep.

-I also like doing leg raises on a decline bench. It is not as difficult as hanging leg raises, but will also target your lower abs.
